deadmau5 has hand selected the winner of his New Artist Competition — a lucky contestant from his MasterClass who will go on to meet with the legendary producer and release a track through his label mau5trap.
Out of thousands of submissions, “Here to Play” by Mr. Puddles was the chosen one. It’s a surprising choice considering it doesn’t have a traditional dance music feel at all, which could also be the reason why deadmau5 decided to pick it — who really knows.
Imagination and sound design are certainly the best attributes of “Here to Play.” Going off the comments section on SoundCloud, not everyone “gets it,” but they don’t have to. The track inspired by “mischief, mountains, and a bit of madness” will go on to be featured on mau5trap’s We Are Friends, Vol. 7 whether such critics like it or not.
The compilation album drops December 8th and Mr. Puddles will have his 15 minutes of fame… Maybe more if the track is well received!
