The tragic, sudden death of Lil Peep has left a void in the music industry only the 21-year-old rapper could fill. Artists have paid their respects in various ways, but Marshmello went the extra mile to tribute the fallen star during a recent performance.
Upon first hearing of the news, Marshmello expressed his disbelief. “I cant even believe this. We were just talking last week about working on a song together and now you’re gone. You will be missed, R.I.P.”
He continued, “Peep was the nicest person. hanging out with him, talking to him about music, the song ideas we were going to do together and touring was so amazing. Everyone will miss you man.”
During Marshmello’s show at GoldRush Festival in Arizona over the weekend, the producer mixed in Lil Peep’s “Beamer Boy” into his set. Watch the touching moment below.
