As much as Android fanboys have been trying to cry out about the injustices of Apple’s business practices for years now, the reality is that Apple phones have by and large been faster and more efficient in their hardware and software. However, despite the high benchmarks the iPhone X has set, iOS 11 continues to hold it back with poor RAM management, and now Android phones are pulling ahead.
Fortunately, this is just a firmware issue, so the problem could be resolved as soon as Apple releases its next update. For now, though, Android users get to puff their chests out a bit farther than usual.
YouTube channel EverythingApplePro got its hands on the new OnePlus 5T ($499-$559)and put it up against the iPhone X ($999-$1149) in a real-world speed test showdown.
Via BGR, “This test doesn’t use the ‘lap’ format that most similar tests have adopted, but the results are still pretty clear. The new OnePlus 5T runs a near-stock version of Android Nougat, which has been refined over the past year. Meanwhile, Apple’s iPhone is running the newer iOS 11 platform that still has some serious bugs to iron out. That’s right… this is one rare instance where Android fragmentation paid off, at least in terms of speed.”
Oh yeah, and it’s half the price…
