Anyone who owns the Apple AirPods will tell you how much they enjoy using them – they’re lightweight, hold a long charge, and make Siri even more useful. However, those same people will still complain about the sound quality. And at the end of the day, isn’t that what you want from your earphones?
A lot of hacks to improve the sound quality on the AirPods involve a lot of work with the actual hardware, which, let’s be honest, the average user has neither the skill nor the time to do. So what then? How do you make the sound better?
The PoltergeistWorks YouTube channel seems to have found a rather ingenious and simple solution to the whole thing. Using some simple foam covers (note: not silicone), he was able to boost sound quality while even improving the fit of the AirPods, all while still fitting them neatly in the recharging case.
According to the Verge, the whole process only took about 20 minutes once the foam covers arrived, and the difference was night and day. If you’re looking for that extra bit of bass and clarity in your AirPods, you need to watch this.
