Hi I’m Ghost – Spooky Riddim (Riddim Network Sponsor) [Your EDM Premiere]

Riddim isn’t always my thing. I grew up on that Circus Records sound from 2010, so that’s definitely more my speed, but I’ve definitely found some hidden gems in the riddim world. That being said, I’ve featured Hi I’m Ghost before and I’ve been consistently blown away with the quality of their work. Their newest track out via Riddim Network is one of my favorites yet for one addictive and adorable reason: “This is some spooky riddim. Let’s get wonky. Womp womp.”

That vocal sample leads into the heavy riddim drop that sends shivers up my spine, but in a world of similar drops and sample pack sounds (not saying that’s what Hi I’m Ghost has done at all), you have to find something to stand out. That vocal sample is definitely the key to this song, and it’s just so good. Can you even imagine that being read in a more “dubstep” tone? As in, rough and metallic and robotic? Not really. It’s the innocence of the Ghost character that makes it so deliciously delightful.

I wholly predict other producers leading up to their drops with that sample and then unleashing mayhem – it’s just so universally applicable to any riddim tune, it wouldn’t make sense not to use it!
