There’s no doubt that Cardi B made huge waves this year with her breakout single “Bodak Yellow.” Just so you remember, Cardi B became the first female rapper to solely rule the Billboard Hot 100 since 1998 and that’s no easy feat – even Nicki Minaj or Beyoncé haven’t done it.
And while we’ve already published a list of our own favorite remixes of the track, Kai Wachi is coming in as a late entry and definitely has a shot at the lead. His dark and electro take on the rap hit is refreshing and downright terrifying in the best way. It’s atmospheric with plenty of empty space and just the right amount of synth work to make this sound absolutely insane coming out of a proper system.
