Even before choosing Crywolf’s Cataclasm as one of our Top 10 Albums of 2015, we’ve loved his music. Since then, he’s released an even more soul-crushing (in a beautiful way) EP entitled Skeletons, containing the song “Silk.”
No stranger to emotional music himself, “Silk” has been remixed by Daktyl. Rather than the dark and droning style of the original, Daktyl’s remix is a tad brighter and more hopeful. The vocals have remained unchanged, giving the song an interesting dichotomy that splits between depressing realism and hopeful optimism. It’s not often that electronic music can embody so many conflicting themes, but if anyone was going to pull it off, it makes sense that it was Daktyl and Crywolf.
