Kungs Beats David Guetta & DJ Snake For “French DJ Of The Year” Award

French DJ Kungs made quite the upset at the NRJ DJ Awards this year when he beat out the likes of David Guetta and DJ Snake for the coveted French DJ of the Year award. The 20-year-old producer experienced unprecedented success with his song “This Girl” from his debut album Layers released last year, accruing nearly 500 million streams on Spotify alone.

This is Kungs’ first win at NRJ.

Other notable winners at the awards include Martin Garrix, who walked away with the awards of “International DJ Of The Year” and “Live Performance Of The Year,” beating out Justice, Hardwell, DJ Snake, and David Guetta in the process.

The Chainsmokers won for “Duo or Artistic Collaboration of the year.”

DJ Snake’s “Let Me Love You” won for “Video Clip of the Year,” so at least the native Frenchman didn’t walk away empty handed.

Calvin Harris’ single “My Way” won for “Dance/Electro Single Of The Year.”

DJ Awards of Honor were presented to both Robin Schulz and Martin Solveig.

Petit Biscuit won for “Revelation Of The Year,” and after listening to his debut album, we definitely agree.
