David Guetta might have beaten out Calvin Harris to win Best Electronic at MTV‘s EMA Awards, but the latter is still coming out on top in a very big way!
According to Forbes’ highest paid DJs list for 2017, Calvin Harris made approximately $23,500,000 more than David Guetta in the year. Diplo, Steve Aoki, Skrillex, The Chainsmokers and Tiesto also all managed to jump ahead of the EMA Award winner in pay scale. Ultimately, Guetta dropped from #3 in 2016 to #7 this year.
The Metro was able to pick Guetta’s brain a bit about the subject. He admitted that he closely follows the Forbes annual list, and obviously noted Calvin’s huge success.
“Of course I pay attention to it,” said Guetta. “We all do!”
“There is competition, but in a positive way,” he continued.”‘We’re all really good friends.”
Being millions behind other topped ranking DJs doesn’t seem to deter Guetta, though. He’s still spending his years playing hundreds of shows and working with elite artists including Rihanna, Sia, Usher, and many more.
Guetta recently played his song “Dirty Sexy Money” to close out the EMAs.
