Koenigsegg Agera RS Sets New World Record As Fastest Production Car

While we mainly report on dance music here at Your EDM, our tastes have expanded and interests have matured over the course of the site’s life. In doing so, we’ve come to cover many topics adjacent to dance music, including some vehicle related news, if only because of Afrojack’s and Deadmau5’s obsession with supercars.

Three days ago, a new world record was set for fastest production car in the world by the Koenigsegg Agera RS. The record was previously held by the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, at 267 mph. The Agera RS has just shattered that record, hitting an average top speed of 277.9 mph. Though, the car still managed to reach a top speed of 284 mph under the right conditions.

Even still, the record isn’t expected to last long. The Bugatti Chiron hasn’t yet had a chance to hit the track and make an official attempt, nor is the Agera RS even Koenigsegg’s flagship model. That belongs to the Regera, which Koenigsegg claims is even faster and more powerful.

Watch the Agera RS hit 284 mph in the video below.
