Several Crystal Castles Shows Cancelled Amid Sexual Abuse Claims

Yesterday, Alice Glass, past vocalist for Crystal Castles, spoke out against her alleged sexual, physical, and psychological abuser — her own former bandmate Ethan Kath. Today, a number of Crystal Castles shows have been cancelled following the troubling claims.

The detailed statement from Alice explains her difficult choice to split from the project in 2014, and distance herself for good. Although Ethan claims “her story is pure fiction” and he ensures “many witnesses” that will vouch for him, that’s not enough to keep Crystal Castles on the bill for the following dates below.

Current members of Crystal Castles include Edith Frances and Ethan, who originally founded the act with Alice.

In her deeply personal and revealing account, Alice wrote:

Leaving Crystal Castles was the single most difficult decision I’ve ever made—that band was everything to me. My music, my performances and my fans were all I had in the world. I gave that up and started over not because I wanted to but because I had to. As difficult as it was, I knew that leaving was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It has taken me years to recover from enduring almost a decade of abuse, manipulation and psychological control. I am still recovering.
