“Written In The Scars” is easily one of the most unique songs from Galantis‘ sophomore album, The Aviary, which just came out last month. Featuring vocals from Wrabel and a beautiful piano melody, it’s more of a ballad than a pop/EDM crossover that they’re so adept at creating.
However, as with so many tracks that fit that description, “Written In The Scars” leaves itself perfectly open for a remix, the call for which Anki has answered with fervor.
Whereas the drop in the original sticks to a more tropical and subdued nature, Anki sees the true potential in it and pumps up the energy ten fold. Leading in with massive kicks and a beautiful cascade of synths falling like sparks from the ceiling, the drop is impactful and beautiful, leaving a wonderful lasting impression.
And the second drop is even more dynamic, adding even more forceful percussion into the mix and commanding even greater attention. There’s no doubt that Galantis could work this remix into their live sets, and I see it being a crowd favorite.
