Well this is absolutely terrifying… The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Drug Investigation Division (DID) is issuing a public warning after several samples of cocaine tested positive for fentanyl.
The powerful, narcotic painkiller is one of the most dangerous substances out there, and just a small amount can be fatal. Until now, fentanyl has primarily been found in heroin or clandestine pills that resemble legitimate prescription opioids. This is the first time cocaine run through the TBI laboratory has tested positive for fentanyl.
Assistant Director of the TBI’s Drug Investigation Division T.J. Jordan publicly states in the video below:
For some time now, we’ve warned about the dangers surrounding fentanyl for those struggling with opioid or prescription drug addiction. This submission, however, changes the game. It proves the serious risk now also applies to recreational drugs beyond opioids. To be blunt: What you might buy and use, thinking it’s a good time, could cost you your life.
This doesn’t apply to just Nashville, or the surround areas, or region — but the entire nation. Recreational drug users should be extra cautious and test everything.
