Ever wanted to know what makes a $300,000 speaker so darn expensive? Oswalds Mill Audio founder Jonathan Weiss take us into the fabrication process to find out.
To start with, nearly everything is made in-house so that OMA has “total control” over the sound. The exact process for creating each piece that goes into their speakers is detailed in the video below, in incredible detail: from the slate quarry, to the metal molds, and the final fabrication of the speaker.
There’s also a lot of technological R&D that goes into creating the perfect speaker – or as close as you can get. The components in the actual speakers are “aerospace-grade” material, using only the top-of-the-line materials and technology to amplify and recreate tonal elements to the utmost degree.
These aren’t your average home speakers by any stretch of the imagination, but considering the EDM community – more than most any other music community out there – values high definition audio, these are something of a wishlist item for the most wealthy of us.
