This has been one of the most trying weeks for America in a long time, largely due to the tragic Las Vegas shooting. However, the outpouring of support for the shooting victims has been a beacon of light in the darkness, with a huge GoFundMe campaign and a massive donation from MGM Resorts being two of the most uplifting stories.
Diplo also showed his support for the shooting victims by donating $100,000, urging his peers to do the same. It looks like Diplo may have started a movement, with two of EDM’s biggest names joining the cause. Kaskade and Valentino Khan both tweeted their support today, with Khan even donating his booking fee from this week. While it’s not a big producer’s prerogative to donate to a cause, the support from leaders in the scene shows the industry’s love and support for Las Vegas and its residents.
Seth Troxler initiated a similar call to action a couple days ago when he called on DJs to donate all or a portion of the DJ fees for Ultra Mexico to earthquake relief efforts; Martin Garrix answered the call on that one.
