The Chainsmokers Break Billboard Dance Chart Record with Coldplay Collab

The Chainsmokers have taken their chart-topping collaboration with Coldplay to the next level — as “Something Just Like This” hits the 20 week mark at #1 on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs.

The song currently reigns for its third week, for a nonconsecutive run of four total weeks since March of this year. “Something Just Like This” clearly has some staying power, as it currently charts above “No Promises” – Cheat Codes featuring Demi Lovato, “Stay” – Zedd & Alessia Cara, “Feels” – Calvin Harris featuring Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry & Big Sean, and “Silence” – Marshmello featuring Khalid.

With this accomplishment, The Chainsmokers become the first act with two #1s that have led the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart for at least 20 weeks each. The electronic/pop duo also reached 20 weeks with their track “Closer” featuring Halsey (which scored 27 weeks at the top).

They are in good company, as Avicii‘s “Wake Me Up!” spent 26 weeks at #1 and Major Lazer and DJ Snake‘s “Lean On” featuring  achieved a 23 week streak according to Billboard.
