The Auburn Police Department of Washington State have issued a statement which details an alleged sexual assault by multi platinum St. Louis rapper, Nelly. Nelly is alleged to have raped a women on his tour bus in a local Walmart parking lot, and was arrested this morning.
The alleged rape occurred after Nelly performed with Florida Georgia Line, a popular country music group who have recently collaborated with The Chainsmokers.
“At 3:48 a.m. a female called 911 to report that she was sexually assaulted by a male, who is known as the rapper ‘Nelly,” per the official police statement.
Nelly’s lawyer, Scott Rosenblum, said on Saturday that Nelly was no longer in custody and had not been charged. “Nelly is the victim of a completely fabricated allegation, Our initial investigation clearly establishes this allegation is devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness.”
Nelly’s lawyer said Saturday afternoon that the rapper is still scheduled to perform as an opener for Florida Georgia Line and that no changes have been made to the tour.
