Everyone has been affected in one way or another by the Las Vegas shooting. But, Diplo took the news particularly hard, as he and many others consider the city to be a second home.
Since the attack, the DJ/producer has spoken out in support of gun control, pledged to give $100,000 to the Las Vegas Victims’ Fund, and now he’s challenging others to do the same.
In an official statement Diplo said:
“My deepest sympathies are with the victims of this horrific tragedy and their families. It’s my hope that these events will start a long awaited and honest conversation about the importance of gun control in America. Las Vegas is my second home and it’s devastating to see this happen in such a vibrant city with an amazing community of people I consider my family.”
His generous donation will be made directly to GoFundMe’s Las Vegas Victims’ Fund that vows to provide relief and financial support to the victims and families of the horrific mass shooting.
“I challenge any other DJs or hotel owners to match it,” he added. “We owe it to the city.”
