Popular DJ/producer Audiofreq has just announced an extended hiatus from the music scene, citing burnout and exhaustion as the main factors.
Last year, Audiofreq released his album Audiology, and he writes today that since the album’s release, he hasn’t been able to finish much music. He continues that the past couple years have been especially taxing on him, and taking a break is a way to “find some peace and recharge myself.”
“I will continue to perform all the confirmed bookings for the coming months, and all bookings that are in the works as of today, will be resolved with my agency (Make You Dance). However, early 2018 is where it will stop.”
Audiofreq admits that he doesn’t know how long he’ll be away, whether it will be a couple months or longer than that, nor does he know for sure if he’ll ever come back at all to do more than work behind the scenes.
“Either way, I’m not saying this is the definitive end though.”
We hope that Audiofreq finds the peace that he desires, and we’ll welcome him with open arms when he returns.
