Halsey released her new album hopeless fountain kingdom earlier this year, including the single “Bad At Love,” which has just received five official remixes from some of EDM’s best, including Dillon Francis and Autograf.
The original is a wonderfully composed ballad that definitely takes cues from modern EDM already, with noticeable 808 snares and a carefully crafted bassline echoing throughout the song. The remixes expound on that influence by taking the song the rest of the way, with Dillon going the moombah route, Hook N Sling taking the deep house route, Klangkarussell going even deeper still, and so on…
Dillon’s remix is actually reminiscent of Major Lazer, taking more influence from dancehall than traditional moombah and throwing in some of those characteristic vocal chops.
But our favorite remix of the pack might actually be the piano house remix from Generik. It’s poppy and super energetic, making excellent use of Halsey’s vocals while making that melody all his own.
Listen to all the remixes below!
