In just two days, the GoFundMe for Las Vegas victims has raised well over $8 million of its $10 million goal… at this moment that number sits at $8,699,555 and just keeps climbing.
The fundraiser is organized by Steve Sisolak, the Clark County Commission Chair from Las Vegas, who started up the initiative in the wake of the Route 91 Harvest music festival tragedy. As stated directly on the GoFundMe page: “Funds will be used to provide relief and financial support to the victims and families of the horrific Las Vegas mass shooting.”
“The hate that this one individual, this lone wolf, rained down on our community and on the MGM Village park was met with an outpouring of love by our entire community,” Sisolak says. “And we will get through this together.”
Donations have been pouring in, from $5 all the way up to a $400,000 gift from Stephen J. Cloobeck and $50,000 each from the NFL Foundation and Oakland Raiders. Many musical acts and celebrities have pitched in, including The Chainsmokers, Kid Rock, Florida Georgia Line and Mike Tyson.
At this rate, the GoFundMe for Las Vegas victims could reach its goal by the end of the day. Every amount counts — donate here!
