Updates are coming out of Las Vegas this morning following a brutal attack on Route 91 Harvest music festival late last night that resulted in mass panic as 20,000 people attempted to flee from open gunfire.
Clark County officials estimate 400+ people were transported to hospitals [UPDATE: that number has now risen to 500+] and 50 others are dead following the shooting. The incident is now considered the worst mass shooting in U.S. history, surpassing the total 49 killed in the Pulse Orlando nightclub shooting in 2016.
According to police (via AP), the suspected shooter, 64-year-old Stephen Craig Paddock took his own life in his Mandalay Bay casino-hotel hotel room on the Las Vegas strip. He was located on the 32nd floor, and reported to be found with as many as 10 firearms.
A witness described the scene as “bullets flying everywhere.”

The U.S. Homeland Security Department said there is no “specific credible threat” involving any other concerts or public venues at this time.
