There are some mighty sounds coming out from the Code Red label that has garnered our attention this year. They’ve taken the elements of tribal house grooves and put their own spin on it, courtesy of CEO and artist himself, Marcus Schossow. He’s pioneered a niche in the market for the talent he supports to showcase their music to the world. The latest EP comes from the talented trio, SOVTH, titled ‘Boriquas’, and is incredible from start to finish.
The title track is by itself a hit in its own right, providing an electrifying melody that can’t help but get your blood pumping the minute you press play. Additionally, Marcus added his own edit to the track that captures a more festival-esque feel, something I know I’d freak out to if I heard it live. “Sovereign” serves as the B-side, capitalizing on groovy brass stabs to round out the EP in perfect fashion.
