We’re HUGE fans of the YouTube series Hot Ones from First We Feast here at Your EDM, so forgive us if we talk a little bit about something near and dear to our hearts: hot sauce.
While the show makes a point of featuring a variety of sauces, including their own brand, they’ve gone above and beyond the call of duty with their latest creation, “The Last Dab.” This hot sauce is probably the most insane thing you will ever eat in your life, as it contains the officially ranked hottest pepper in the world, dubbed “Pepper X.”
Just a few months ago, a Welsh chili grower invented the Dragon’s Breath chili, and broke the previous record for hottest pepper with 2.48 million Scoville heat units. (A Scoville heat unit is equivalent to one dilution of a chili pepper in water. Heat levels are measured by the number of dilutions it would take to completely eliminate the heat from a pepper.)
Pepper X, which has been in the works for nearly 10 years, eclipsed the Dragon’s Breath chili with a staggering 3.18 million Scoville heat units. And right now, the only place you can find this pepper is in the Hot Ones “The Last Dab” hot sauce.
