The newest Apple products launched just over a week ago, and there has already been a major problem reported with one of the new devices…
Apple has admitted the latest Apple Watch model is having trouble connecting to LTE. Kind of a huge deal, considering that the LTE offering was one of the biggest perks of the watch. The Series 3 smartwatch starts shipping tomorrow, but the built-in cellular service isn’t totally reliable
According to The Verge, the Apple Watch Series 3 attempts to connect to WiFi networks instead of connecting to cellular — which indeed leads to unnecessary inconvenience for such an expensive device.
Since insiders have experienced difficulties with the devices, Apple addressed the issue head on: “We have discovered that when Apple Watch Series 3 joins unauthenticated Wi-Fi networks without connectivity, it may at times prevent the watch from using cellular. We are investigating a fix for a future software release.”
This marks the first time Apple has acknowledged a problem with the smartwatch after pre-orders, and before shipping. Here’s more about the new Apple Watch below.
