We’ve all been there — at 2% battery after taking too many snaps or videos at a music festival and not having enough time to charge it back up to a suitable percentage. Ugh, the agony!
The new iPhone 8 and iPhone X seem to be the answer to everything, including the need for fast charging. And, by fast charging, we mean 0 to 50% in just 30 minutes — which before today sounded more like that Drake song than an actual possibility.
In order to achieve that high caliber charge, however, you need to invest in an extra accessory sold separately from the new iPhone models. The fast charging requires an Apple USB-C charging block (sold separately), your Lightning cable, and just 30 minutes of your time.
The iPhone 8’s battery life is similar to that of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The iPhone 8 and iPhone X offer 12 hours of internet usage and the iPhone 8 Plus is said to give off an extra hour of usage.
Apple sells 29W, 61W and 87W versions of the USB-C power adapters, ranging from $49 to $79. Check ’em all out here.
However, even with all of that new tech, you still won’t be able to fast charge thru wireless charging, which was another major selling point of Apple’s keynote event last week. So for all that Apple seems to be innovating, they’re still just trying to line their pockets in the end.
