Sydney Festival Results in Eight Charged with Supplying Drugs, One Caught with 396 Capsules

Eight festival goers have been charged with supplying drugs at Defqon.1, a dance party in Sydney… and another 37 people were found with drugs on them.

A 22-year-old German national was reportedly caught with 396 capsules containing ecstasy and amphetamine. Another man allegedly had 200 ecstasy pills on his person, and a woman was found with 87 pills thought to be MDMA.

Police dogs helped target a total of 45 people with drugs over the duration of the event, which began Saturday morning at Sydney International Regatta Centre.

Of the approximate 24,000 people, 11 attendees were issued with cannabis “cautions” and one person was charged with assault at Defqon.1.
