One festival attendee is dead, and another three in critical condition following Hong Kong’s Road to Ultra stop over the weekend.
A 27-year-old man, Chow Wai-ho, reportedly collapsed at the music festival around 9 pm on Saturday and was pronounced dead an hour later at a nearby hospital.
The three others that collapsed included a 21-year-old woman and two men at ages 22 and 29. All were said to have fell over during different moments at the music festival, but all of which were taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in critical condition.
According to the South China Morning Post, a cultural district authority spokesperson said it was believed that all four had been taken to the hospital because they suffered heatstroke.
A police investigation is underway to determine if drugs were a factor. The source said medical backgrounds, toxicology, and possible heatstroke factors will all be taken into consideration.
