A new UK nightclub — Abstrakt — is calling out a renowned DJ for his “ridiculous demands” after a booking failed miserably.
“It is with regret that we have decided to cancel the performance of Jeremy Underground at this Friday’s Abstrakt launch party,” the club opens up it’s lengthy official statement regarding the situation.
Long alleged story short: Abstrakt booked a hotel, Underground wasn’t happy. Abstrakt booked another, fancier hotel, Underground wasn’t happy. Underground demanded yet another, even fancier hotel. Abstrakt was sick of wasting money on cancellations. Underground offered to pay in part, but Abstrakt still faced to lose £1,551 in hotel costs alone, so the club decided to cut ties.
In summary, Abstrakt says:
“It’s against everything the underground scene / house music is meant to stand for and is exactly the type of behaviour that is making so many promoters stop promoting parties.”
The Facebook post and screenshots below detail the hotel drama and “ridiculous demands,” via Abstrakt. Jeremy Underground appeared to have responded at one point, but since the post has either been taken down or the privacy settings changed.
