We were all pretty impressed last week with the first Week In Music of fall but as it turns out, this week’s playlist might even be stronger. Once again the A-listers of EDM came out in full force with ODESZA, Dillon Francis, Diplo, Grey, Alesso, and What So Not leading the way.
ODESZA’s brilliant new album A Moment Apart was driven by three new records that we hadn’t heard yet, “Falls,” “Just A Memory,” and “Across The Room” with Sasha Sloan, Regina Spektor, and Leon Bridges respectively.
Diplo and Starrah put out their second record together “Swerve” after last month’s bouncy trap tune “Imperfections.” Hopefully, this is the start of a budding partnership which results in more records to come.
Alesso recruited Hailee Steinfeld, Florida Georgia Line, and watt in this week’s mega-collab. The sugary dance-pop “Let Me Go” is sure to be this week’s brand new radio hit in due time.
As far as remixes ago there were plenty of great ones to speak of too. Major Lazer and Yellow Claw both remixed themselves, Dillon Francis dropped a banging remix for “Final Boss” while Deorro took on “Obsession” by Jon Bellion.
Finally, Steve Aoki dropped a mash-up with Linkin Park “Darker Than The Light Never Bleeds” based off of two of their previous collaborations “Darker Than Blood” and “The Light That Never Comes.” All proceeds from that single will go towards Linkin Park’s nonprofit Music For Relief.
Prepare yourselves because this week we’ve got 45 songs and over two and a half hours of new music!
