Hurricane Harvey has absolutely rocked the southeast Texas area and has left thousands displaced, with homes entirely destroyed or otherwise unable to return to them until the waters recede. While the country, reels from the loss of life and property damage, not to mention the political turmoil bubbling beneath the surface, life across the country goes on – including dance music events.
Rightly so, specific events were cancelled entirely or postponed, 3lau’s set in Houston falling into the latter category. His show was scheduled during the hurricane (obviously this wasn’t known until the hurricane actually touched down) and has been rescheduled to September 15. In observance of the loss that the communities in Texas have faced, 3lau is donating all ticket money from the show to the Mayor’s Hurricane Relief Fund – around $20,000.
“We all need to support our friends & their families who are suffering the consequences of Harvey. For those of you who aren’t in the Houston area, but have friends there, please reach out to them to see how you can help – ghcf.org – much love & stay safe!” – 3lau
If you didn’t have a reason to attend 3lau’s show before, you most certainly do now.
