Using Eastern elements in dance music isn’t anything new, but it’s always possible to do it better than the last guy. For Creepa and Inverness, their use of Asian sound elements in their new song “Up” is subtle but effective, and makes for the progression in the song to sound natural and enticing.
It begins with the soft plucks of a string instrument, with samples of wind and leaves rustling, subtle chimes in the distance – as it builds momentum and layers elements, the soft vocals come in with a tickle of violin. It slowly rises and rises in intensity and power until it is unleashed all at once under a torrent of sound.
The track is a beautiful chimera of Eastern and Western sounds in a neat future bass package. Check it out below via Kaleido!
