In the meantime, it’s good to note that the duo known as Carmada is made up of two very talented solo producers, namely LDRU and Yahtzel. The latter, most pertinent to this article, just put out a stunning new track entitled “Someone Else” featuring Savoi. (Not to be confused with Savoy, the trio from Colorado.)
Starting out with a beautiful arrangement of piano notes, the percussion quickly comes in and sets the tone for the rest of track – eschewing a style of funky and jazzy vocals and rhythm that we see far too little of in electronic music. By the time the drop comes in, I’m swaying with the entire weight of my torso, leaning into those kicks and crashes like my life depended on it.
