Emmit Fenn’s Eclipse EP is the Inexplicably Beautiful Soundtrack to the Solar Eclipse

Soon, the moon will pass between the sun and the Earth, creating a spectacle we can’t wait to see. And now, thanks to an artist by the name of Emmit Fenn, we’ll be able to hear it as well!

Such a rare occurrence wouldn’t be as special without a soundtrack, which is exactly why Fenn took it upon himself to create the Eclipse EP. This body of work balances otherworldly sounds with more grounded, ambient familiarities to depict what it’s like to experience this natural phenomenon from on the ground — or, if you let your mind wander — from space. And it’s already been co-signed by Deadmau5 on BBC Radio 1, as well.

Through four alluring and compelling tracks the Eclipse EP takes the listener on a journey. “Memories,” “What We Once Were,” “Drive,” and “Halo 22″ are all up for interpretation but can promise to bring the solar eclipse experience to the next level today.

“This is the first time in 99 years that the solar eclipse has passed directly over the US, so to be able to make music specifically for it was an opportunity that I couldn’t pass up,” Fenn explained.

“There’s this beautiful mystery and awe around it that is super unique so as in artist, it is really inspiring. Can’t wait for 256 years from now when I get to do it again!” (lol)
