Zhu’s New EP Is The Face Of Spotify’s Rebranded electroNOW Playlist: “mint”

Playlists are one of the most powerful tools an artist can use on Spotify – getting into the right playlist can net you tens or potentially hundreds of thousands more plays and exposure. Up until now, the main playlist for electronic music has been electroNOW. But starting today, that’s changing.

The electroNOW playlist is officially being rebranded as mint.

“The launch of our flagship electronic playlist, mint, represents the unique pieces of the culture and the global audience that lives and breathes it,” said Austin Kramer, Global Head of Electronic.

To head up the rebrand, Spotify has chosen Zhu to be the face of mint. In celebration of the rebrand, as well, Zhu has released a surprise 4-track EP containing his collaboration with NERO, “Dreams,” as well as three other tracks that are all insanely good.

“Electronic music is incredibly diverse and ever-fresh,” continued Kramer. “mint is the condition. Having ZHU a part of this launch was a natural fit as he embodies the culture, and has been introducing undeniable style. Once you see the videos on mint, you’ll get it. There is no turning back now for dance music on Spotify and in the industry.”

Along with the EP, Zhu will release three vertical videos on Spotify, something that we’ve only ever seen done once before – and that was by Avicii. You can check those out on Spotify.
