Tidal Hires Fourth CEO In Two Years Richard Sanders

tidal tidal

TIDAL has had a long history of struggling to find the right man at the helm to steer privately-held streaming platform towards the paths of fellow streaming giants Spotify and Apple Music. In just two years the company has run through four CEOs including new hire Richard Sanders who previously held the position of Kobalt Music Group president back in May following five months at Kobalt.

Prior to that, Sanders also held executive positions at Sony Music subsidiary RCA Records and before that RCA subsidiary Arista Records before rising to the position of Sony Music’s Chairman of International & President of Global Marketing.

The shuffle in leadership is said to have come from new board member and Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure following Sprint’s $200 million investment in the company for a 1/3 stake. Prior to Sanders, Jeff Toig former CBO at SoundCloud last held the CEO position up until May this year.
