This year many festivals are occurring across North America, but weather concerns have threatened one of the weekend’s most hyped events. Moonrise Festival, which started today in Baltimore, Maryland, was evacuated after 6 p.m. EST in anticipation of severe thunderstorms. While Moonrise did not publicly announce the evacuation on its social media pages, a number of posts from attendees revealed the festival evacuated the Pimlico Race Course venue.
Judging from social media posts, attendees were evacuated prior to the thunderstorms hitting the venue and safely secured at the race course’s Grand Stand building. Luckily, it appears the festival is back on as of 9:05 p.m., according to Carnage‘s latest tweet. Carnage is scheduled to close the Stellar Stage, but it remains to be seen how the schedule will be adjusted for the remainder of the night and tomorrow.
