David Guetta Has Considered Getting Insurance On His Fingers

It’s not really talked about a whole lot, but a DJ’s most important body parts are probably their fingers. You produce with your fingers (keyboard, mouse, guitar, etc.), you DJ with your fingers – whether you use CDJs or a turntable – your fingers are your life blood.

When you think about it that way, it’s actually not that crazy an idea to insure your fingers. Many surgeons do the same thing; soccer players will insure their legs; even other musicians have reportedly insured body parts, including Mariah Carey, whose legs and voice are allegedly covered by multi-million dollar policies and Dolly Parton, who insured her famous cleavage for $600,000 in the early 1970s.

Now, it seems that David Guetta has started to look into insuring his fingers based on advice from his lawyer.

“I actually looked into this because my lawyer said ‘You have to insure your fingers’,” he told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper. “I said, ‘It sounds too crazy for me.’ I’m not judging anybody, but I didn’t do it.”

Guetta, 49, was just named the #7 highest-paid DJ in the world at $25,000,000, for the period of July 2016 – June 2017. If he were to lose the loss of his fingers, that number could plummet substantially. Since he decided not to get the insurance, hopefully he has some money squared away for a rainy day.
