Rising collective MMXVAC is known for their boisterous catalogue of bass music in all its forms, racking up over 118,000 followers on Soundcloud alone. Their latest effort takes a more melodic approach, showing off the group’s diverse tastes. “Close 2 Me” comes courtesy of MMXV head SCRVP and his new-signee AG, a young producer who has been making some serious waves in his local community in the Northeast.
“Close 2 Me” starts off with some simple chords and female vocal work, which combine with well-placed percussion to create a smooth, dream-like atmosphere. The drop leaves little to be desired, building off the mood of the track by bringing in bright, wavey, and not overly complex sounds. A short half-timed bit in the second drop provides some variance in the production while maintaining that dreamy atmosphere that has remained throughout. “Close 2 Me” is not one to overlook; it hits all the proper future-bass notes.
