2ToneDisco’s cheery, bubble gum video-game inspired electronic music has been one of my favorite new discoveries over the past year. The LA-based duo is known for their catchy yet eclectic sound and they’ve done it once again with “Hold Me.”
If you feel like the lyrics are familiar enough to the point that it might even be a chopped sample, it’s because you’ve probably heard those exact four words in that Calvin Harris megahit from the early 2010s, “You Used To Hold Me.” The production is superb and fun on its own but it’s the records overall quirkiness that make this such a great listen.
