Death of Electric Daisy Carnival Attendee Ruled Accident, Acute MDMA and TFMPP Toxicity

The death of an Electric Daisy Carnival attendee at the 2017 event in Las Vegas has officially been ruled an accident.

Michael Adam Morse (34) died from acute MDMA and TFMPP toxicity, with other contributing factors such as heat exposure, according to the Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner via News 3LV. TFMPP has no street name, but its presence would imply that whatever form of molly or ecstasy he took wasn’t pure.

Initial cause of death was believed to be heat-related, and while relatives of Morse blamed long water lines, EDC 2017 was reportedly equipped with 100 free water access points around the music festival with wait times no longer than 10 minutes.

Insomniac released an official statement shortly following the death:

“The unexpected passing of a loved one is tragic, and while the exact cause of this tragedy is still unknown, we do know that family and friends are grieving. It is with great sadness that we send our thoughts and condolences to the loved ones of the man who passed away after the festival had ended.

Our health and safety plan is created over several months with local agencies. Our roaming medical personnel are available twenty-four hours a day, free of charge, with the best emergency room doctors, nurses, EMTs and paramedics in the country. A full staff of security and police are also available to all attendees. We encourage everyone to approach our caring staff and ask for help if needed.”
