Shaun Frank has had a huge career of collaborations and originals, from DVBBS to KSHMR, and remixes from The Chainsmokers to Duke Dumont. He’s got a new single coming out tomorrow on Ultra Music called “Upside Down,” and you can hear it here on Your EDM first.
The track is a brilliant new style for Shaun, playing with a unique, whimsical vocal chop that brings visions of Disney movies and Pogo mashups. The vocals are present throughout the track, giving it a much more “song” vibe than “track.” Even then, though, even as the vocals are exactly “hype” worthy, they still manage to present a sense of suspense leading to the drop.
If there’s any one word to describe the track, it’s probably “whimsical.”
