The Chainsmokers Want to Collab with Kanye West and We Can’t Even Fathom What That Would Sound Like

We thought we’d heard it all — but, nope. Today we learned that The Chainsmokers want to collaborate with Kanye West and we can’t even begin to fathom what that would sound like.

The DJ duo spoke on radio show Fully Charged, revealing that they have a long list of people they’d like to hit up the studio with, but they “keep saying Kanye West.”

“Even if the song never came out, it’d just be sweet,” they added.

Just think if there was a bonus track on The Life of Pablo that featured The Chainsmoker’s signature, pop-infused synths and auto-tuned Kanye West vocals drowning out against some obscure feedback and wacky samples. Or, if Yeezy had jumped in on the electronic duo’s debut album for a surprise cameo, completely breaking up the predictable flow of Memories… Do Not Open and giving The Chainsmokers some street cred in turn.

Collaborations with Chris Martin, Halsey, Tiesto, Bono, Ryan Tedder, Florida Georgia Line, and more have shaped The Chainsmoker’s already accomplished career, and it’s totally possible they could add Kanye West to that list.

“We ended up becoming pretty good friends with him and he’s been one of those people that you can have such a great respect for because they’ve been in an insanely successful band for so many decades,” they explained.

“When you have a question … its good to have people like that who can just shed some light on the reality of your situation.”
