An 82-year-old man has been injured this past weekend in a suspected shark attack. While on a beach in Ibiza, the man was supposedly attacked by a blue shark and suffered a two inch wound.
Happening on the Playa d’En Boss beach (which plays host to popular clubs like Ushuaïa and Hï), swimmers and beach go-ers cleared the area directly after the attack was reported. A search was conducted, but no shark was found.
On Saturday, an eight-foot blue shark was later beached in Illetas – but freed itself shortly after. Those in the water were cleared for several hours as the area was monitored, with no signs of the shark.
However, a blue shark was found and captured safely on Sunday.
