Electric Forest officially opened its festival doors yesterday with headlining acts from Above & Beyond, Lotus and more, but Friday’s entry was delayed for a few hours by rain and mud. Five inches of rain between the early hours of Thursday and Friday pushed back entry from noon to 3pm local time, as festival-goers were alerted by the Electric Forest app.
“Weather events can, of course, be part of any outdoor festival experience,” festival organizers said in an emailed statement. “Electric Forest operations and production teams are well prepared to work with challenges that heavy rain can bring to the festival site.
“Overnight and this morning crews have been working tirelessly to drain water, repair grounds and prepare the venue to open for a fantastic schedule on day 2 of Electric Forest.”
Thursday’s event was also slightly delayed, by less than an hour.
Tonight’s headliners include Nero, Odesza, Tycho and others.
