Father Sues EDC Promoters Insomniac & Live Nation After Son’s Death In 2015

Nicholas Tom, 24, died in 2015 while attending EDC Las Vegas. The official cause of death was ruled to be intoxication from ecstasy a month later. Now, Tom’s father has filed a lawsuit against EDC promoters Insomniac and Live Nation for wrongful death and negligence.

Tom’s father, Terry, is claiming that there were “scarce and understaffed medical facilities.” He further claims that the volunteers on site had little medical experience, and “insufficient access to water.”

The health and safety of its headliners is Insomniac’s #1 concern when creating festivals. There are always plenty of water stations available to attendees and trained, medical professionals are always on call at all times of night.

In 2016, Insomniac created a full, functioning hospital at EDC Orlando, staffed with ten doctors and more than 100 medical volunteers.

We’re awaiting a comment from Insomniac on the lawsuit.
