Just one day into Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas 2017 there has already been a notable amount of arrests, medical calls, and hospitalizations.
Police and emergency crews have kept busy… According to the Associated Press via 3 News Las Vegas, police have made 29 felony narcotic arrests and 118 attendees were ejected by Insomniac Productions. There were also 443 medical calls that required six to be transported to area hospitals. (Keep in mind this also means that 437 medical calls were able to be handled on-site successfully.)
Las Vegas police also revealed that no threats have been made against EDC, although organizers urge festival goers to be aware of their surroundings. Ahead of the event, Insomniac founder Pasquale Rotella made safety his #1 concern to provide the most magical experience.
“Safety starts with you” he shared via Facebook. “Recent incidents both here and abroad are reminders that we must all remain vigilant and do everything we can to protect ourselves and each other. Between all our Headliners, staffers, and emergency personnel, we have thousands of watchful eyes. If you see something, say something. Report suspicious activity, packages, persons or vehicles to either festival staff, security or local law enforcement.”
EDC reportedly has hundreds of private security personnel, Las Vegas police officers, Nevada Highway Patrol troopers and other law enforcement officials working at the venue to ensure a safe and secure environment.
Doors open again tonight at 7 PM PDT.
