Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas is almost here, and we’re gearing up by reliving some of the best live sets that came out of the music festival in 2016 from acts returning to the lineup in 2017!
These artists are no strangers when it comes to performing under the Electric Sky, which is just as impactful for those on stage as it is for the hundreds of thousands of individuals who experience the magic as spectators. Year after year, EDC boasts one of the largest lineups with unmatchable production and talent — those who have played the massive music festival have truly “made it!”
Some of our Your EDM staff favorites from EDC 2016 include the following…
Don Diablo
In his first show at EDC Las Vegas, Dutch DJ / producer Don Diablo delivered an uplifting, heartfelt house set filled with love. He also used his performance as a platform to voice his opinions about the then upcoming presidential election, even mixing in an excerpt from Martin Luther King’s “I Have A Dream” speech… Talk about inspiring!

Alison Wonderland
If you’ve seen Alison Wonderland live, you know she leaves absolutely everything on the stage. Her EDC appearance last year was no exception, as she put on a personal display of her signature phrase: “Fuck Me Up On A Spiritual Level.” Listen as she powers through her trap infused set, featuring some of the best in hip hop sprinkled in with her own stunning music catalogue! AW is the ultimate bad ass.

Joyryde
In his North American debut, Joyryde wowed the EDC 2016 crowd and promised his fierce, bass heavy productions would soon take over the scene. Flash forward to a year later, and you can’t listen to a bass house set (at least, not any good ones) without hearing this guy’s music played out. He’s back again for round 2, and no doubt he’ll bring the fire!

Marshmello
The most talked about moment from EDC 2016 was when Marshmello announced he’d expose himself, and Tiesto popped out from under his helmet. Naive EDM fans may have been fooled for a moment, but most of us just laughed this off for what it was. All trolling aside, Marshmello put on one of the biggest shows of his career at the height of his popularity and it’s well worth a re-listen.

RL Grime
Grime matters… And, this producer knows it best. RL Grime opened up with his masterpiece “Waiting,” co-created by What So Not and Skrillex, and didn’t let up for anything. His ability to deliver trapped out bangers, and bring it back to hit you in the feels, shows in both his productions and during his live sets like this one. With new material on the way, RL Grime might have a totally different sound this year!
