We never thought we’d see the day that EDM would take over the CMT Music Awards, but leave it to The Chainsmokers to do just that!
The ridiculously successful EDM/pop duo came out for the occasion last night to perform their track “Last Day Alive” with Florida Georgia Line, the country band featured on the last track of their debut album Memories… Do Not Open.
Set outside in the heart of downtown Nashville, the guys tore it up on stage in true EDM/country (yes, that’s now a thing) fashion. With electronic genres and country music finding its way onto pop radio, we’ll see more of these collaboration and crossover performances to come.
Both acts have been known to work with artists from other genres, as The Chainsmokers have featured Coldplay, and pop artists Daya and Halsey on their tracks, while Flordia Georgia Line even has a collaboration with the Backstreet Boys.
All musical styles aside, the important thing is that the crowd was digging it… Watch below!
