Live Nation, one of the world’s largest concert promoters, has put into place enhanced security procedures at its events following this week’s bombing in Manchester at an Ariana Grande event.
The special notice issued to venues and attendees reads, “Due to enhanced security procedures, no bags or backpacks will be permitted into the venue except for small personal bags or purses (12″x12″x6″ max) or clear 1 gallon bags.”
“All bags will be subject to a search. We encourage you to not bring in any bag whatsoever and make use of the express ‘no bag’ lanes.”
Camelbak backpacks and similar models must meet the dimensions specified in the notice and reservoirs must be EMPTY of any liquid.
The full reach and effect, not to mention duration, of the new security procedures is unknown.
If you can avoid bringing a bag to shows in the near future, it is highly recommended.
Live Nation events include Austin City Limits, Bonaroo, EDC Vegas, EDC Orlando, Electric Forest, Hard Summer, Governor’s Ball, Lollapalooza and more.
All Live Nation events are on mandatory elevated risk protocols. Please plan accordingly.
